The C-IED Interdiction Kit is a lightweight counter-IED remote access kit designed for EOD technicians conducting interdiction operations against suspected improvised explosive devices.

The kit provides operators with the tools necessary to remotely manipulate, expose, or disrupt suspected explosive hazards while maintaining critical stand-off distance. Remote handling tools, grappling equipment, ceramic cutting tools, and line-management hardware allow operators to gain access to suspicious devices or materials while minimizing direct contact with potential hazards.

The system is packaged in a Pelican 1450 protective case, providing durable transport and rapid deployment in operational environments.

Counter-IED equipment is designed to assist operators in detecting, accessing, and defeating improvised explosive devices as part of broader counter-terrorism and force protection operations.

This kit was developed in consultation with experienced technicians and is optimized for dismounted interdiction missions requiring lightweight remote-handling capability.

C-IED Interdiction Kit FAQ's

What is a C-IED Interdiction Kit?

A C-IED Interdiction Kit is a collection of remote handling and access tools used by EOD technicians and bomb squads to safely approach, manipulate, or disrupt suspected improvised explosive devices while maintaining safe stand-off distance.

Who uses a C-IED Interdiction Kit?

These kits are commonly used by:

• Military EOD teams
• Bomb squads
• Counterterrorism units
• Special operations forces
• Tactical law enforcement teams

Why are remote handling tools used in C-IED operations?

Remote handling tools allow operators to manipulate suspicious objects without direct contact. Increasing distance between personnel and a suspected explosive device reduces risk from blast, fragmentation, or anti-handling triggers.

What types of missions require a C-IED Interdiction Kit?

Typical uses include:

• Suspected IED investigation
• Remote access to suspicious packages
• Counter-terrorism operations
• Tactical search missions
• Render-safe preparation

Why are ceramic tools included in the kit?

Ceramic blades and tools reduce the risk of electrical conduction or sparking when working near sensitive explosive components or electronic firing systems.

Is the C-IED Interdiction Kit customizable?

Yes. EOD Gear offers Custom Off-The-Shelf (COTS) kit configurations that allow agencies to modify tool selections based on mission requirements, operational doctrine, or agency standards.
