Breaching Tools are available at EOD Gear because we are big fans of breaking things either explosively or mechanically.
Explosive - High Explosive charges with Tamping material held in place with Breachers Tape. The high explosives, usually Det Cord contained within a tamping material is detonated using a Shock Tube Initiator. This small explosive charge with high pressure contained within a small surface area pushes the door open.
Ballistic - Using Shotgun Frangible Rounds, the Breacher can shoot the lock or the hinges allowing the door to open.
Exothermic - Man-portable backpack Cutting Torches can make short work of the most robust iron gates and steel doors. The stronger the gate, the longer it takes to breach. In some cases, cutting the steel is the only way to enter.
Mechanical - Cutting saws are an option for softer targets such as hinges or walls. Rechargeable Battery driven Quickie Saws are ideal as the work in low oxygen environments where gas powered would struggle to start and run. Quickie Saws can easily cut through steel rebar support and concrete blocks. Don't forget the hydraulic door spreaders!
Manual - Ram and Pry tools include halligan, bolt cutters, door rams and pry bars are the most cost effective, low tech way to enter the space. Manual Entry Tools range in a wide array of design, portability and weight.

The days of heavy breaching tools are quickly becoming obsolete with advancement of technology and a deeper understanding of physics. Heavy Entry Tools require stronger personnel or even multiple team members to use the tool properly. Many of the older tools are also large making the impractical or even impossible to use in narrow hallways.
With advances in technology, lightweight breaching tools and entry equipment make single carry, dismounted operations possible increasing the probability of success.
Imagine carrying an 18 pound door ram on a 2-Point sling similar to how a rifle would be carried that could be deployed quickly then stowed just as fast! Other lightweight dismounted breaching tools include a 5-in-1 Halligan that is shorter and curved giving you the same leverage as a longer tool.
Gas powered saws have been replaced with 60V mini breacher saws that always start and work in low 02 environments. These mini saws easily cut through rebar and concrete. Door hinges have no chance against these saws.
