Combination Strike Face Door Ram
Interchangeable HDPE & Hardened Steel Faces · 18 / 25 / 32 lb · T&E in Franklin, TN
You now have a choice when it comes to fighting Evil — sparking or non-sparking. The Combination Strike Face “CSF” Dynamic Ram puts both strike faces on one perfectly balanced ram, and lets the breacher swap them as the mission demands.
The CSF Ram is the evolution of the Dynamic Ram series from 3rd Law Breaching: it combines the two previously separate versions — the HDPE non-sparking strike face and the heat-treated hardened steel strike face — into one ram with interchangeable faces. Until recently it wasn't feasible to drill and tap steel this hard; manufacturing improvements changed that, so the hardened face is now drilled and tapped, and the breacher simply unbolts and changes the strike face as they see fit.
Which Strike Face, When?
| Strike Face | What It Does | Run It When |
|---|---|---|
| HDPE — Non-Sparking | High-density polyethylene face that eliminates spark on strike | Training environments, or any entry where spark mitigation matters |
| Heat-Treated Hardened Steel | Incredibly hard steel that keeps the strike face edge crisp — no rounded edges, no glancing blows | Operational breaching where maximum bite and edge retention win the door |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a combination strike face door ram?
A breaching ram with interchangeable strike faces — an HDPE non-sparking face and a heat-treated hardened steel face — on one ram body. Instead of buying and staging two rams, the breacher unbolts one face and installs the other as the mission demands.
When do I run the HDPE face vs the steel face?
HDPE is the non-sparking option: training environments, and any entry where spark mitigation is important. The heat-treated steel face is for operational breaching — its hardness keeps the strike edge crisp, preventing the rounded edges and glancing blows that soften a ram's bite over time.
Can I change the strike faces myself?
Yes. The hardened steel face is drilled and tapped — a manufacturing capability that only recently became feasible for steel this hard — so faces swap with basic tools. Unbolt, exchange, done.
Which weight should I choose — 18, 25, or 32 lb?
All three are the same price, so choose on handling: lighter rams favor speed, single-breacher work, and confined spaces like narrow hallways; heavier rams deliver more energy per strike. If you're undecided, come swing them at the T&E Center in Franklin, TN before you buy.
Are custom colors available?
Yes, with minimum quantities. Include your color requirement when you add the ram to your quote and we'll confirm the minimum in writing.
What is the current lead time?
The CSF Ram currently carries an extended lead time that changes with production. Add the ram to your quote and the current lead time comes back confirmed in your written quote — no guessing from a stale web page.
