The immigrant visa interview is a crucial part of the process for obtaining a U.S. immigrant visa. During the interview, the USCIS officer will review the applicant’s application and documents to verify their eligibility for an immigrant visa. The officer also collects biometric data, including fingerprints and photographs, and may ask questions to further assess the applicant’s qualifications and eligibility. Depending on the type of visa sought, additional interviews may be required with a consular officer at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad prior to issuance of the visa.
