Why a Large Platform Gets Specified

Lift and reach decide whether the robot can act at all. Vehicle-borne devices, heavy UXO recovery, and anything requiring a quarter-ton lift or three meters of vertical reach are large-platform work.

The T7 moves a 110 lb drum out of a car trunk, retrieves unexploded artillery rounds, and passes its manipulator through a car window to reach a concealed threat. When the US Air Force replaced its 20-year-old F6A fleet, it cited the T7's five-times-greater lift, twice the top speed, twice as many higher-resolution cameras, four times the battery life and roughly ten times the radio reach.

Disruptor and Tool Capacity

The T7 carries up to four total disruptors, including up to two large ones — PAN, PIGSTICK, HOTROD and RE70 among them. That capacity is the practical reason to specify a large platform: a single deployment can address more than one charge placement without recovering the robot.

Factory accessory options include an under-vehicle kit, single-blade forklift, firing circuits, CBRNE sensor mounts, mid-arm camera, handheld controller, in-system charging cables and battery chargers.

Tooling We Stock and Build

The platform is the start. What mounts to it decides whether the robot can execute your team's render-safe procedure:

Where a mount for a specific tool and platform combination does not exist, we fabricate it in Franklin, TN under ISO 9001:2015 through Custom Off The Shelf — CNC machining and additive manufacturing in-house.

Common Platform With the T4

The T7 shares a haptic controller and substantial parts commonality with the L3Harris T4 medium EOD robot. Agencies running both train operators once, stock one spares inventory, and move technicians between platforms without retraining. Teams needing access into confined urban spaces, stairwells or below-grade positions typically pair a T7 as the primary platform with a T4 for the approaches the large robot cannot make.

Procurement

EOD Gear is an SDVOSB and GSA Schedule contract holder — GS-07F-148GA — ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered, holding FFL10/FEL20. We accept GSA, purchase orders, P-Card and credit card, and support grant documentation and sole-source justification where your agency requires it. Available to authorized agencies only.

L3Harris T7: Frequently Asked Questions

How much can the T7 lift and how far does it reach?

More than 250 lb (113 kg) near the chassis and 60+ lb (27 kg) at full extension, with 87 in of horizontal reach and 122 in of vertical reach. It lifts a 110 lb drum from a car trunk and passes its manipulator through a car window to reach concealed threats.

Is the T7 a VBIED capable robot?

Its lift, reach and four-disruptor capacity address vehicle-borne work directly, and it off-loads from a response vehicle fully configured. Agencies writing a specification against the National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board classifications should review the requirements on our bomb squad robots page and confirm the configuration against their own spec language before submitting.

How many disruptors can the T7 carry?

Up to four total, including up to two large disruptors such as PAN, PIGSTICK, HOTROD and RE70. A single deployment can therefore address more than one charge placement without recovering the robot. EOD Gear supplies the disrupter mounts, recoil mitigation hardware and ammunition separately.

How long does the T7 run on a charge?

8+ hours depending on task, powered by twelve BB-2590 batteries. Top speed is 4.5 mph on a skid steer track system that climbs stairs and slopes over 45 degrees and traverses lateral slopes over 30 degrees.

How does the T7 compare to the T4?

The T7 lifts more than twice as much and reaches two feet higher, making it the platform for vehicle-borne work and heavy UXO recovery. The T4 is a medium platform that reaches interiors, stairwells and below-grade positions the T7 cannot enter. They share a haptic controller and many parts, so running both costs one training pipeline. See the T4 medium EOD robot.

Can agencies purchase the T7 on GSA?

Yes. EOD Gear is a GSA Schedule contract holder — GS-07F-148GA — and an SDVOSB. Agencies can purchase via GSA, P-Card, or purchase order. We also support grant documentation and sole-source justification. Use the contact form for procurement support.

Who is eligible to buy an EOD robot?

Authorized agencies only — accredited Public Safety Bomb Squads, military EOD units, and federal response teams. EOD Gear is ITAR registered and holds FFL10/FEL20. Robots are quoted by configuration rather than sold online.
