Ceramic EOD Scissors

Ceramic EOD Scissors

These Ceramic EOD Scissors are not your typical ceramics scissors that have the blades break off if you drop them more than 2 inches.

These blades are solid and serrated!

I sat around with the Nashville Bomb Squad and cut up a bunch of 18 gauge solid copper wire with no problem.  I could probably trim the hedges with these!

NOTE: We were notified that an EOD team noticed a spark while cutting a wire.  We were able to reproduce this effect with ours and other ceramic scissors used throughout the community. This information is in the process of being passed up to TECHDIV by the discovering EOD Team.  We still don't know if it's a combination of factors such as humidity, or lack of, insulation, metal composition, etc.  We're asking everyone to be aware of this and to adjust accordingly.

Serrated Ceramic Blades

That's right these blades are serrated giving you the extra bite and confidence when cutting a circuit.

The serrations make it easier to cut through the insulation and the increased surface area of the blade makes it easier to cut through thicker wire, cordura and even kevlar strands.  DuPont uses these scissors in their factory!

Why is the price lower?

Well, why not.  We were able to source these at a better price than the scissors with the blades that can fall off so we're passing the savings on to you.  We actually did think about raising the price to about $30 but we'd rather be reasonably priced and disrupt the industry.  We know budgets are tight and every dollar matters.

Ceramic EOD Scissor SPECS:

  • Solid blade that actually goes up into the handle
  • Serrated blade for more bite
  • 5 Inch total length
  • 1.25 inch blade for max torque
  • Large finger and thumb hole
  • Black and Tacti-Cool
  • $20 saves more money for Beers

Not sure how you  made it down this far but here's some more info:

The brass screw is not for maintenance.  It has a healthy dose of locktite so please don't unscrew it.  You shouldn't need to anyway.  These are very solid.

If these scissors break due to dropping or any other non-RSP related reason, let us know.  Send us a picture so we can see what happened and see if we can adjust to make them better.  We'll send you another set.

Get a handful for yourself and your team.

Although I don't have the heroic occupation(s) of reviewers before me, I can verify that these scissors are exactly as advertised, and I look forward to using them for years to come. When you order them--at their surprisingly low price--you can safely expect prompt shipment and caring attention from the seller.

A refreshing change

The EOD ceramic scissors provided by EOD Gear is a refreshing change from the normal shears and scissors that can be purchased elsewhere. The workmanship on these are flawless. Although the ceramic blades are small, they are manufactured so that they will not break or shatter accidentally due to the longer blade length. The action of opening and closing the scissors is perfect. There are not any catches or rough edges in the plastic handles, or in the action of opening and closing the blades. One single nut is installed through the plastic handles, which keep the blades together. Loctite appears to have been added to the nut so that it does not unscrew unnecessarily and does not loosen the action of the scissors through multiple openings and closings. Overall, the scissors are a great addition to your hand-entry toolset and EOD toolkits.

Well suited for the task

I had an opportunity to use the scissors yesterday during a hand entry scenario and found them to be well designed (perfect size) and well suited for the task. I will be recommending these scissors to other members of our unit.

Worked Very Well

Myself and another Tech, Jamie O’Connell, had the opportunity to use the ceramic scissors you sent me and they worked very well in a wire attack training scenario.

Cuts DET Cord, Shock Tube

Love them. I have cut just about everything with them ( including myself). I have cut DET CORD several times and it works great. I have also cut shock tube and same does a great job. I have also cut clothing. I really like them.

The ceramic scissors are by far superior to others that I have used in the HDT/EOD environment. I just specifically used them thru out the aka AT Solutions Slash and Go course. They held up perfectly. With the others I have had to glue the blades back in after only a few uses.

Scissors worked as advertised

I used the scissors during training at the last I.A.B.T.I. Conference in West Palm Beach. It was the only tool I used to cut different types of trip wires and small diameter wires. It cut the line and wires with no problem without binding up or twisting. Thanks for the product.

The ceramic scissors are very nice durable and very light weight and have come in handy more times than once. I am talking to my supervisor more about them and seeing if we would want to get them for the whole unit. Whenever he gets more time I will talk to him more about them for sure. Soon we will have our EOD Olympics so I will be using them and really testing them out during all of the events that I am a apart of. Again thank you for the ability to try out the scissors and thank you for the support that you show to our amazing carrier field.
