Does Dayton Armor offer edge-to-edge protection?

Dayton Armor, manufactured in the USA does provide edge-to-edge protection. Dayton Armor passed DoD First Article Testing which is significantly more stringent than NIJ requirements. First Article Testing requires a total of 2 shots be placed on the edge of each of a minimum of 60 plates. When researching body armor for your command, be sure to check for edge-to-edge protection. Is Dayton Armor NIJ Certified?

Dayton Armor passed DoD First Article Testing which is significantly more stringent than NIJ testing. Dayton Armor is NIJ Compliant with NIJ Certification in process as of January 2023. First Article Testing requires a minimum of 60 plates be shot on the peak of the crown of the plate as well as a shot on the edge of the plate. Dayton Armor provides Edge-To-Edge protection. Additionally, First Article Testing requires a second round of shots including a round placed at the spot of the most damage as well as another round placed on the edge.
