How much does this plate weigh?
Weight depends on size: from 0.44 lb for the 5x8 side plate up to 1.60 lb for the XL 11x14. The most common sizes sit right around a pound — the medium shooters cut is 1.15 lb and the 10x12-class SAPI is 1.20 lb. Every size is just 0.27 inches thick.
What does ICW mean?
ICW stands for "In Conjunction With." This plate is designed and rated to be worn together with Level IIIA soft armor behind it — the plate and soft armor work as a system, and the plate should not be worn alone for its rated protection.
What threats does this plate stop?
Worn in conjunction with Level IIIA soft armor, the plate is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 Ball at 2,700–2,810 feet per second — the Level III rifle threat.
What is the warranty?
This Dayton Armor plate carries a 10-year warranty.
What is the difference between SAPI, Shooters Cut, and Full Cut?
SAPI cut has angled top corners for compatibility with standard-issue carriers. Shooters cut removes more material at the top corners for better shouldering of a rifle. Full cut is squared for maximum coverage — used here in the 5x8 and XXS sizes.
