EOD Time Fuse Cutter

The EOD Gear Time Fuse Cutter is a spring-loaded, precision cutting tool designed specifically for EOD technicians, combat engineers, and demolition professionals who need clean, reliable cuts on NONEL shock tube, safety fuse, and detonation cord in the field. Available in Black and Red.

Built from the same high-strength aircraft-grade aluminum used in the EOD Gear Dual Cap Crimper, this tube and fuse cutter features a razor-sharp replaceable blade and an improved locking mechanism for consistent, repeatable cuts with every use. The cutting base is engineered with a powder exit channel, allowing residual powder to clear as the fuse or cord is cut — an important safety feature during live explosive operations.

Manufactured in Franklin, TN by EOD Gear under an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. EOD Gear is an ITAR-registered manufacturer, SBA-certified SDVOSB, and GSA contract holder. Government purchase orders, P-Cards, and GSA orders are welcome.

The NEW EOD Gear Tube and Fuse Cutter is specially designed for precision, accuracy, ease of use and efficiency.

Now Available in Red!

With its razor sharp blade, this spring loaded Cutter is ideal for all cutting applications including NONEL tube, and fuse and detonation cord from 1/16 inches to 3/16 inches diameter.

The cutting base also provides an exit for powders to be released as the fuse or cord is being cut.

Manufactured in the US on location at EOD Gear from the same high strength aircraft quality aluminum as the EOD Gear Dual Cap Crimper. The Shock Tube/Time Fuse Cutter comes with a replaceable Blade and improved locking mechanism.

EOD Time Fuse Cutter FAQ

Q: What does the EOD Time Fuse Cutter cut?

It is designed to cut NONEL shock tube, safety fuse (time fuse), and detonation cord ranging from 1/16 inch to 3/16 inch in diameter.

Q: Is the blade replaceable?

Yes. The Time Fuse Cutter comes with a replaceable blade, extending the working life of the tool significantly.

Q: What is the powder exit channel for?

As the fuse or cord is cut, residual powder is released. The cutting base includes an exit channel to allow that powder to escape safely rather than compress, which is an important safety consideration during explosive operations.

Q: Is this tool made in the USA?

Yes. It is manufactured by EOD Gear in Franklin, Tennessee, under an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Q: Why is there a Red version?

The red anodized version provides high-visibility identification in the field, making it easier to locate the tool quickly in a kit or low-light environment.

Q: What is the difference between a time fuse cutter and a regular blade?

A dedicated fuse cutter uses a spring-loaded mechanism and precision blade geometry to produce a clean, square cut without crushing the fuse core — which is critical for consistent burn rates and reliable initiation. A standard blade or scissors can deform the fuse and introduce failure points.
