There are several types of Triple Mag Pouches available supporting a broad range of calibers and ways to attach them to your plate carrier or load bearing equipment. You will need to decide which size magazine you carry, the style of retention, attachment type and color.
Start with what you are shooting. Rifle or Pistol? With rifle the easy fit is for the AR/.556/M4. Other choices include the AK, MP5 which is easier to find in a 5 mag pouch set and others including 40mm, 9mm pistol, etc.
Retention is personal preference. You can have the bungee top with pull tab, fold over which protects the magazines from the elements and open top with elastic retention.
Attachment is going to be based on the capability of your plate carrier or chest rig. The easy solution is MOLLE attachment. Proven over the years. If attached correctly, you have no worries of dropping your mag pouch.
If you are wearing a plate carrier with a detachable panel, you can pick and chose multiple sizes of mag pouches to wear and change in a moments notice. We have customers having multiple detachable panels loaded with 416, MP-5, M4 as well as EOD and Breacher tool kits.
For those wearing elastic cummerbunds you have the option of wearing velcro attached mag pouches. Best practice is to wear these by attaching the mag pouch to the plate carrier then wrapping the cummerbund over the top of the mag pouch.
You final decision is color. We are seeing a lot commands wearing Ranger Green plate carriers and using Black cummerbunds and mag pouches. It may not provide utility but it does look great. If you are looking for a more custom solution please let us know.
