The 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac™ VIII Single Comm Headset is a next-generation tactical communications and hearing protection system engineered for military, law enforcement, EOD, tactical response and other professionals operating in demanding high-noise environments.
Built to help operators hear what matters, communicate clearly and protect their hearing, the ComTac VIII combines advanced environmental listening with integrated radio communications and protection against hazardous impulse and steady-state noise.
Advanced Situational Awareness
The ComTac VIII incorporates Mission Audio Profiles (MAP) that allow the operator to optimize environmental listening for different operational environments. Available profiles include Observation, Patrolling, Conversation and Comfort, helping improve auditory situational awareness without sacrificing hearing protection.
3M’s Soundscape technology further enhances radio communication and speech intelligibility in noisy environments, helping operators distinguish critical communications from surrounding sound.
Single-Comm Tactical Communications
This configuration features a single communications downlead with Nexus™ 4-Con connection for integration with compatible push-to-talk (PTT) systems and tactical radios.
A dynamic, noise-cancelling boom microphone is designed to improve voice transmission in high-noise environments, making the ComTac VIII well suited for tactical teams, EOD technicians, military units, law enforcement and other personnel who depend on reliable communications.
Hearing Protection Without Sacrificing Awareness
The ComTac VIII provides a 23 dB attenuation rating while its environmental listening system helps maintain awareness of voices, movement and other important sounds around the operator.
Ear Plug Mode can also be used when the headset is worn with compatible passive earplugs, allowing users to increase hearing protection while retaining environmental listening capability.
Designed for Operational Use
The low-profile over-the-ear design is built around an adjustable rubberized headband and can be converted for use with select helmet attachment systems using optional accessories.
Powered by two AAA batteries, the ComTac VIII provides approximately 50 hours of operating time, helping support extended training and operational requirements.
