Do Lightweight Rifle Plates Stop AK and AR Ammo?

Lightweight rifle plates that stops AR and AK ammo does exist but you need to be confident in what body armor you choose.

One of the first questions you should ask, "Is the rifle plate NIJ certified or compliant?" You will want to make sure that the plate has been tested in a ballistics lab. NIJ certification is costly and timely for the manufacturer so the plate your looking at may not have made the list yet. Ask your supplier for the testing data. If they can't provide the data should you be working with them?
