Why We're Carrying the Bread Box: EOD Gear Partners with Aerial

We manufacture most of what carries our name. This isn't one of those products — and that's exactly why this announcement matters.
EOD Gear has signed a distribution agreement with Aerial to carry the HazPro Bread Box, a protective transport bag for small explosives and energetics under 1 lb TNT equivalent. We build a lot of gear in Franklin, Tennessee. We don't build this. Aerial does — and when someone else's engineering is the right answer for the bomb tech, our job is to say so and put it on the shelf.
Why this one cleared our bar
Aerial's HazPro team is the market leader in passive, fabric-based fuel tank fire suppression for U.S. Army and Marine Corps tactical trucks — over 23,000 trucks equipped since 2007. The Bread Box takes that same patented dry-chemical suppression technology and reinforces it with NIJ Level IIIA soft armor, built for the hands of the bomb technician instead of the fuel tank of a truck.
Then there's the testing, which is the part we actually care about. The Bread Box was tested under observation by ATF certified explosive specialists, with results corroborated by an independent lab. With a typical pipe bomb inside, sensors at arm's length showed roughly an 85% reduction in blast pressure. At the full 1 lb TNT design limit, a 32% reduction. Those are honest numbers with hard limits attached — no guarantees, no survivability promises, and the manufacturer says so out loud. That's the kind of data sheet we can stand behind.
What it changes on scene
The use case that got our attention: breaching charges no longer have to ride on the operator's vest. Carry them in the Bread Box, use the charge, leave the bag behind until the scene is secure. Same logic for moving a pipe bomb off a school hallway floor, transporting caps pit-to-pit during demolition operations, or recovering crickets at a crime scene — and a device inside the bag can still be X-rayed without removing it.
The limits, stated plainly
The Bread Box is for small explosives under 1 lb TNT equivalence, handled by trained personnel — military EOD, public safety bomb technicians, SWAT breachers, federal explosives specialists. Larger threats require different protocols entirely. If a vendor ever tells you a bag makes a device safe, walk away. This one reduces overpressure, fragmentation, and thermal effect. Reduction is the honest claim, and it's a meaningful one.
The Bread Box joins our full Blast Mitigation line.
