The T.REX ARMS TRAAP Chest Rig is a six-magazine chest rig built for EOD technicians, public safety bomb squads, SWAT teams, and federal tactical elements who need rifle ammunition, a radio, and working documents carried forward and accessible while wearing armor or working out of a vehicle. It takes the proven Tactical Assault Panel layout, reduces the footprint, and replaces the original Y harness with a one-piece H-harness. EOD Gear supplies the TRAAP for agency, unit, and department procurement.
Why the TRAAP
- Six-magazine footprint. Smaller and lighter than the seven-pouch TAP it derives from, sized to stay clear of a plate carrier cummerbund.
- Three retention methods. Magazine pouches are loop-lined and accept Tall Esstac KYWI inserts; the center four also accept the T.REX Individual Item Pouch Flap. Shock cord retention is standard.
- Two general-purpose pouches behind the outermost magazine pouches for radios, tourniquets, or similarly sized items.
- Admin pouch with removable zipper insert and internal mesh divider for maps, signal panels, and flat documents.
- Plate carrier compatible. Rear hook field and standard buckle spacing attach the panel to most industry-standard carriers, or run a dangler pouch off the hook field. A Cordura backer covers the hook when worn standalone.
- Two backstrap positions to tailor fit, and a second set of webbing loops behind the admin pocket so the harness can mount in front of or behind it.

Common Questions
Will the TRAAP mount to a plate carrier?
Yes. The rear hook field and standard buckle spacing attach it to most industry-standard plate carriers. Carriers with large overhanging cummerbund wings may need adapter straps.
Is the TRAAP Berry Compliant?
Yes. All sewn nylon goods manufactured by T.REX ARMS are Berry Compliant. Armor plates and plate sets are not covered.
What size is it, and will it fit different operators?
The TRAAP is one size. Fit is adjusted through the three-position QASM buckles on the harness, the adjustable underarm straps, and a back strap that ranges from 43 inches down to 7.5 inches.
Can I use Esstac KYWI inserts?
Yes. All six magazine pouches are loop-lined and accept Tall Esstac KYWI inserts. The center four pouches also accept the T.REX Individual Item Pouch Flap, so retention can be mixed across the rig.
